Board Meeting at Newman Enterprises
(Lauren, Nikki, Victoria, Neil, Jack, Victor, Cain, Brad – arrives late):
At the board meeting, Cain threatens to pull the plug on the construction project if they don’t come up with the additional money for the needed Methane repairs. No one wants to front the money. Each party, particulary NVP and Jack, think it’s the other’s responsibility. Jack’s thing is I own the land and don’t give a flip about the buildings. The buildings, which is where the methane concern is, are the responsibility of NVP…therefore Nikki should pay. Lauren is just a lessee and doesn’t have an obligation to chip in on these repairs. Cain lets Jack know that if he doesn’t get the money he will pull the plug. Jack tell him that he can find another contractor who is weak when it comes to constructing in the area with methane. Cain tells Jack that if he finds a contractor that will build with this problem then he will get what he deserves. Now, Jack, there is a time to make a smart comment or bluff and there is a time to listen. We know that Jack wants his Casino built but does he really want everyone in it to blow up when they’re playing slots and blackjack….Don’t think so…Jack work with the man on this one. Victor is smiling because he knows that NVP doesn’t have the money to antiup for additional repairs. This expense will cause NVP to default on the loan and where will Nikki be? In Victor’s mind, Nikki will be right where he wants her. Is there no end to this man’s ruthlessness. Come on, Victor this is your wife. You haven’t been the most faithful, romantic, caring husband on the face of the earth either. The only time you acted like you had a heart was when you were having seizures. Now that the seizures are controlled, Victor’s back to being his usually controlling, uncaring self. Victor just needs to admit that he is hurt in a non-yelling fashion and try to work through his problems with Nikki via reconciliation or divorce. He doesn’t need to squash her like a bug in the business world to prove he’s the man…we know he is like the all powerful oz of the business world.

Gloria:
Gloria invites Jeff for coffee. She bats her big blue, well made-up eyes at him and listens attentively to his tales from the past. As Jeff shares, he tells Gloria that he spent time in a prison in a third world country because the country’s president needed an American to make an example. He didn’t get any help from the American Embassy because the two countries were in negotiations and they didn’t want to rock the boat. Well, Sherlock Gloria is surprised to find this out. She leaves the table, calls Michael and tells him to find out all he can about Jeff’s past. Does Michael jump right on this one…Not…he’ll put it on his to do list right after trying to keep Kevin out of jail.

Daniel:
He has a bright idea and goes to see Jack to get a job. Daniel knows that it will better for him in the courts if he is employed. Jack hires Daniel. He then goes to the apartment to pick up his stuff that Lilly and Davon have already packed up for him. Daniel tells Lilly to call if she needs anything and leave the apartment quickly. So he has made two smart moves today with getting the job and getting out of Lilly’s hair.

Lilly:
Neil comes over to tell her that she can have her marriage annulled since, technically, she and Daniel were not legally married because Lilly forged Malcolm’s name (her biological father) on her birth certificate. Lilly gets all up in the air with Neil and runs upstairs. She later tells Davon that she doesn’t want her marriage to be nullified because that would mean it didn’t happen. She would rather have a divorce. Well, Ms. Lilly, does it really matter at this point. If you are so ready to get out of the marriage, either option will work and you don’t have to run out of the room when something is mention that you don’t like. You were big enough girl to run off and get married…so be big enough woman to listen to your options.

Nick and Sharon:
Sharon reminds Nick that she is not going out of town with him on a photo shoot. Remember she is trying to keep her daddy Jack oops I mean her husband Jack happy. So, Nick and Sharon comprise and decide to find a local spot to shoot. As Sharon tells Jack about the comprise, Nick walks in and asks if she is ready to go. Jack is surprised to find out they are going today. Sharon asks if he wants to come and he declines. Jack tells them he hopes they find what they are looking for. Well, Jack, if you keep being so lax with Sharon spending time with Nick, Nick is going to get what he wants and that’s Sharon. At the first location, Neil’s club, Sharon and Nick talk about Phyllis and Summer being in hiding until the verdict and Nick’s concern about Phyllis running off with the baby. At the next location, a bank vault, Sharon loves it and spouts off ideas for the photo shoot. One of the crew members wants a shot of the vault door and closes the door as the other crew member yells not to do that. Well, as you can probably guess, Nick and Sharon are locked in the vault and no one can hear them. While they wait for someone to open the door since the crew already know they are in there, Nick asks Sharon to re-explain how he left her and ended up married to Phyllis. Sharon shares the highlights of events, including the issue of Summer’s paternity,, that led to their present relationships and she also tells Nick something that she hasn’t told Jack. Sharon wants to have another baby someday.

Next week’s grapevine: Will Sharon listen as Nick pours his heart out to her and confesses his eternal love for her? Will Jack continue to think that he’s got it goin’ on and not see the love Jones that is occurring between his wife and her ex? Does Davon have the hots for Lilly and he is using this comforting brother thing just to be near her? Will Victor pull the cork on Nikki’s NVP ship and take pleasure in watching her drown in a sea failure?
